Burney Water District Director since December 2007
I was born in Los Angeles California and moved to Anderson in 1956. Graduated from Anderson High School in 1965. My Family and I moved to Burney in 1974 where my wife and I raised our three children. I worked as a forestry and agriculture teacher and coach at Burney Jr. Sr. High School for 17 years. In the summer of 1991, I started Fred Ryness and Associates, a contract forestry services business, until 2009. I become involved with the Burney Water District Board when I volunteered to serve on a Committee to develop a new sewer rate system, which the District still uses today. I also serve on the California Special District Board, Shasta County LAFCO Commission Board and am a past Board Member of the Intermountain Baptist Church. I am now semi-retired and work for the U.S. Forest Service seasonally.
